Emily Askwyth Digital Media

For this project we took our own pictures and then created a stop/go video clip. We took aroumd 60 frames and then animated them together. Mine is just a clip of me walking along the river walk at susnet. It was cool to put a bunch of still images together to create an animated clip.

For this project we built upon the animated video clip. I added a variety of sounds layered on top of the video I had already made. This allowed me to add unique sounds to my video. I tried to make mine sound postitive and fun to go with the bright colors and scenic background showed in my animation.

This project was a cool way to get more comfortable with animation using photoshop. We lined up the pictures, saved them, and then put them on the timeline with cross faded transitions in between to get this morphed clip. I know think I'm much more prepared to utilize the photoshop timeline feature in the future.

This was another technique that I have seen before, so it was cool to understand how it is done. It was cool to watch this project go from looking messy and tossed together to blended and kind of realistic looking. It’s definitely a funny image, but I grew a lot more comfortable and confident in my skills from this project.

This project was cool to learn how to do because it’s a tecnique I have seen so many times and always wondered about. This could be a cool technique to use in the future for everything from creating cool edits for myself with unique backgrounds, to making cool content for a professional setting. Learning the special skills to blend the image and make it look more realistic was interesting .I really like the way mine turned out and I hope to use this technique again in the future. This was a fun way to get more farmiliar with the differet features of photoshop and learn how to make things made with the application look as polished as possible rather than just giving a copy and pasted look.

This project was challenging at first but I think I enevtually got the hang of it. I really like the idea of taking a poster and learning to re-create it and I think it helped me better understand working in layers in my designs. I hope to be able to utilize these skills to make unique works of design in the future. I picked a poster with a variety of shapes and colors and this helped me get more farmiliar with different features and how to accomplish different shapes and looks.

This project was a lot similar to some editing I have previously done using different applications. Especially in this age and being in the marketing industry, having knowledge of how to opperate photoshop and to effectively edit photos. These came out really cool and I hope to use this knowledge to create more images like this for both personal and professional use in the future.

This in my opinion was the most challenging project of the semester.  I liked that it made us go more into depth with Adobe Illustrator which before this class I had no farmiliarity with. Getting the shading and shapes right was really difficult and time consuming. It was cool to see this project go from looking like a blob of color to a realistic image,  and I know feel I have a greater undertanding of a lot of graphic designs I’ve seen in my day to day life.

This project allowed us to build upon our work creating our Logos and furthur practice using these skills to create our own buisness cards. As I said previously I am about to enter the professional working world, so this was fun to practice for when I will eventually need to create my own official buisness cards in the near future. I liked practicing different formats. My favorite logo was my top one, and my favorite format for the backside was the middle card.

As a Senior about to enter the professional marketing industry, learning to create logos was a really cool and useful project. I liked having the freedom to choose what we wanted to create, and become more comfortable creating these visuals. This project was fun for me as I thought of it as visualizing my future success as a buismess woman with my own personal brand.

This project was a unique way to turn words into art. First we created a line design, and then we replaced the lines with a poem or song lyrics. I chose an old favorite song of mine and chose to creata a sun and clouds image because it goes along with some of the lyrics- The song is I Got Sunshine by The Temptations and the lyrics mention “I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day.” This kind of project could be cool and useful in the future when creating branding content for clients as it creates a unique and striking image that can also be used to communicate a message.

My name is Emily Askwyth, I am a 22 year old Senior at the University of Tampa studying Communication with a concentration in Media Studies as well as two minors in Public Relations and Advertising with an interest in Branding and Corporate Marketing which I am currently pursuing as a Marketing Intern for SkyBridge Resources, a staffing agency whose headquarters is here in Tampa Florida. Not only has learning about Digital Media been interesting and fun, it has provided me with information that is extremely useful for my career as a Marketing Specialist as I create my own content for clients, such as the social media graphics and newsletters I have created for work. I am excited to use all that I have learned from these assignments to further enhance my career as I continue to grow and learn more.
